THE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT
HUMAN-CRAFTED CODE
This battleground tests your actual skills. While standard documentation is fine, entries found heavily relying on generative AI (ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.) for core logic may be subject to disqualification.
30-DAY BUILD WINDOW
The prompt drops on the 1st. You have until the last day of the month at 11:59 PM UTC to submit. Late entries are strictly rolled over to the next month. In that case the same entry fee can be adjusted for next month's battle.
ON-DEMAND REVIEWS
To ensure a fair playing field, our jury thoroughly reviews top entries and reserves the right to request a brief, live code walk-through before finalizing the winners. if and when required.
THIS MONTH'S OBJECTIVE
October 2026 Challenges
3 Divisions of Contest to Choose From — Participate at Your Level
Build a Responsive Pricing Table
Your Mission: Build a 3-tier pricing table using only HTML and CSS (Flexbox or CSS Grid). It must be fully responsive, scaling gracefully from mobile to desktop. Include a functional toggle switch that visually updates the prices from “Monthly” to “Annually” (vanilla JavaScript allowed only for the toggle).
Dynamic Kanban Board with Local Storage
Your Mission: Build a Kanban-style task board (To Do, In Progress, Done) using vanilla JavaScript. Users must be able to add, edit, delete, and drag-and-drop tasks between columns. The state must persist using the browser’s Local Storage so data is not lost on page refresh. No external libraries (like React or jQuery) allowed.
Asynchronous API Dashboard
Your Mission: Build a dashboard that fetches and displays live data for three distinct entities simultaneously using a public REST API (e.g., weather data, crypto prices, or user generation). The UI must include a search bar to dynamically append new data instances, handle API error states gracefully (e.g., 404 handling), and display custom loading skeletons while fetching.

The Universal Guidelines
- The Rolling Clock: The deadline is always the last day of the month. Enter early to maximize your build time.
- Solo & From Scratch: No teams, no templates, and no cloning existing repositories.
- Free Tools Only: Do not use premium plugins or paid APIs. The jury must be able to run your code for free.
- The AI Rule: No AI-generated core logic. Human brains only.
- 100% Your IP: You retain full ownership of your code. We only showcase the winners.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. This is a 100% asynchronous, remote battleground. You do not need to record your screen, be on a webcam, or code live. You build your project locally at your own pace, on your own schedule, anytime before the monthly deadline.
Yes! You can register and submit your project at any point before the final day of the month at 11:59 PM UTC. Just keep in mind that joining later means you have less time to build, so we recommend registering as soon as you are ready.
Not at all. That is exactly why we created the Junior Builder division. It is specifically designed for students and early-stage learners to test their foundational skills in a fair environment, without having to compete against industry professionals.
Absolutely. Real developers rely on documentation. We only prohibit using generative AI (like ChatGPT or GitHub Copilot) to write your core logic or build the project for you. Standard research, searching for syntax, and basic debugging are completely allowed.
Click "Accept This Challenge" and you will be prompted to paste a public URL to your code (a GitHub/GitLab repository for Pros/Masters, or a Cloud Drive link for Juniors) directly on the intake form. We do not accept ZIP files or email attachments. Once your entry fee is processed on the checkout screen, your submission is officially locked in.
The jury grades purely on three metrics: functional logic (does it successfully execute the mission brief?), clean architecture, and responsive UI. Check out the "Last Month's Winners" Hall of Fame above to see the caliber of code that takes the top prize.
After the monthly deadline passes, our jury reviews all qualified submissions. If your project takes the top spot in your division, we will contact you directly via the email you provided to coordinate your cash payout and activate your digital rewards.
No. You retain 100% intellectual property ownership of everything you build. We only ask for permission to feature your winning project, name, and category in our BWS Hall of Fame to give you global recognition.
